Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Eyeshadows - Swatches and Review

Welcome back, everyone!  Since I was so impressed with the texture of Dawn Eyes Cosmetic's eyeshadows, I decided to make another small order.  I've been intrigued by Gold Gilded Blue for such a long time, it's one of the shadows that first put them on the radar.  However, it had been discontinued for awhile before I discovered DEC.  Luckily for me, Dawn actually does remake discontinued shadows, and only charges $1 extra for it.  I ended up emailing her for an invoice of my choices and she shipped it out on the same day I paid!

I received these about 2-3 days after shipping and noticed that Gold Gilded Blue had leaked a bit.  Her full sized jars come with a sifter sticker and is also shrink wrapped.  Somehow, the shadow ended up leaking from the sifter rim so it was a bit messy to clean up.  I carefully took out the sifter to avoid further problems.

Enough talk; onto the swatches!

Gold Gilded Blue
Gold Gilded Blue:  shimmery blue-tinted gold.  Now I normally don't wear this kind of color, but there was just so much hype surrounding its beauty.  I don't regret this purchase one bit.  It has an extremely buttery texture and is very pigmented.  I can't wait to start playing around with this!

Spearmint Peppermint
Spearmint Peppermint:  super pale pink with light green sparkles

Mossy Mauve
Mossy Mauve:  dusty rose with slight green sheen

Damsel
Damsel:  shimmery sheer wine with purple sparkles

Daylight:  Gold Gilded Blue, Spearmint Peppermint, Mossy Mauve, Damsel
Flash:  Gold Gilded Blue, Spearmint Peppermint, Mossy Mauve, Damsel

Fleeting Flame
Fleeting Flame:  sparkly rose gold with pink sparkles

Hellenic Fire
Hellenic Fire:  fiery red with strong orange overlay.  This is another color that I don't normally wear or go for, but it's always strongly recommended so I decided to pick it up.  Oh my goodness, this shadow is beautiful.  It really does look fiery; the red shows up a lot more in real person.  I look forward to playing with this as well.

Mystic Ocean
Mystic Ocean:  purple loaded with green sparkles.  This shadow is absolutely beautiful.  It really took my breath away and I want to use this everyday.  Trust me when I say pictures don't do it justice, at all.

Northern Lights
Northern Lights:  plum with blue shimmers.  This was the one I was most excited to receive and it certainly is stunning.  However, it's a huge testament to DEC's shadows when I say I was way more excited about a few other shades than this one.  That doesn't mean that Northern Lights wasn't up to par, it just means the other shades totally blew my expectations out of the water.

Daylight:  Fleeting Flame, Hellenic Fire, Mystic Ocean, Northern Lights
Flash:  Fleeting Flame, Hellenic Fire, Mystic Ocean, Northern Lights

Momo
Momo:  sparkly champagne.  This is one of the Kate's Colors and would make a very pretty inner corner highlight.

Fire Witch
Fire Witch:  brick red with strong green sheen.  This is so gorgeous!  The green duochrome is a LOT more apparent in person.  I have no idea how I could have missed this shadow while perusing her site.  I must have more.

Two Faced
Two Faced:  periwinkle with pink sheen

Genteel
Genteel:  metallic silver.  This shadow has a very buttery texture.

Daylight:  Momo, Fire Witch, Two Faced, Genteel
Flash:  Momo, Fire Witch, Two Faced, Genteel

As you can tell, DEC's eyeshadows are definitely impressive and pigmented.  I absolutely cannot wait to make more orders.  I think I might purchase her entire inventory just to do a huge swatch post on them.  Since most of the shadow samples are .50 cents; it shouldn't run my bank account too much, right??  I've already made another Kate's Color order, so I may wait until that is finished until I buy everything she has.

Have you tried Dawn Eyes yet?  Which shadow would you recommend for me?

- Jolie ♥
