Aromaleigh August 2015 Ephemera Swatches

I have swatches of Aromaleigh's last Ephemera box for you guys today!  It's inspired by Marie Antoinette and more specifically, based on the film Sofia Coppola released of her.  This is pretty bittersweet for me because I have been subscribed since the second box and ended up enjoying the subscription immensely.  The attention to detail, beautiful packaging, informative notes, and great quality products won me over.  Unfortunately, it wasn't turning a profit for the company so they've chosen to discontinue it.

Anyway, the label art reminds me a lot of an older manga, The Rose of Versailles.  It's a series my mom used to enjoy and I thought the art was beautiful.  I initially thought the label art was a shout out to the series, but it was just a happy coincidence.

Cute info note

Aromaleigh Medusa Menagerie Swatches

Hey everyone!  I have a small swatch post for you today of Aromaleigh's current Menagerie, based of Medusa.  Since cancelling the Ephemera, they've also announced the Menagerie will no longer be monthly but will be around every 45 days (please correct me if I'm wrong).  Even though this means less collections overall, it also means more time for me to save up money between collections.  There were several sneak peeks of the Medusa Menagerie and it seemed to be a purple and red leaning collection with a gloss and perfume.

AFK Cosmetics Summer Lovin' 2015 Swatches!

Hey everyone, I have swatches of AFK Cosmetics' recent Summer Lovin' collection today!  It's an Advent Calender style collection where you're only supposed to open one item per day.  Of course, being as impatient as I am, I opened them all at once and wasn't even sorry.  I believe AFK does this twice a year, once in the summer and once in the winter.  I opted for the sample size collection because I don't use up full size products anyway.  And I know it's almost the end of summer, but as long as I get it out before then, right? :P

This is an inside joke, but basically in my previous order, Dena had drawn me a melted snowman and she revived it here :P

Beautiful Blonde Pineapple
Beautiful Blonde Pineapple:  pale yellow with silver sparkles.  This is a sample from the very own, AFK Cosmetics!  It's very satiny and feminine.

Beauty School Dropout
Beauty School Dropout:  matte pale pink.  This is a sample from Blackbird Cosmetics, who specializes in matte shadows.  Everyone raves about them and I'm not a matte lover, so I can't fully appreciate the quality, but it is very soft and pigmented.

Notoriously Morbid Mr. Oddity Tribute Trio and Karma Mystic Matte Swatches

So, I'm very ashamed to say how long I've had this post in my draft folder, but life issues had gotten to me and I finally have time to get around to posting this now!  This is a small swatch post of Notoriously Morbid's second Tribute Trio which pays tribute to the greatness of David Bowie.  Admittedly, I don't know a lot of his songs and I know him mainly from movies, but I enjoy NM's products and Bowie is a sexy man = win win for me.  I also have swatches of their Mystic Matte Lipstick in the shade Karma down below.

Too Cool to Fool
Too Cool to Fool:  silver shadow with silver and pink sparkles.  This shade is extremely glittery, so I really recommend using it over a sticky base for it to really pack a punch.  I've seen a bunch of ladies foil it as a liner and the result is so intense and beautiful!

Pigment of My Imagination First Impression Swatches and Sneak Peeks!

I'm very excited to show you some swatches and first impressions of a brand new indie company, Pigment of My Imagination!  We got in contact and the lovely owner, Bri, asked if I would like to swatch her general catalog colors or her upcoming Twin Peaks inspired colors.  Being a fan of Twin Peaks, I chose that one!  She sent out the samples quickly and I received them last week.  (Lots of life and work drama prevented me from swatching until this week, sorry!)

When I opened my packaged, I was surprised with not only the Twin Peak colors, but all of the general catalog colors as well!  Bri had very generously slipped in her entire collection for me to swatch :D  Her general catalog is named after people who had a hand in testing out products for her, so it's extra special.  I'll be showing off the Twin Peaks shadows first, and then the general catalog.

1UP Box ARCADE vs Super Geek Box COURAGE vs Loot Crate CYBER June 2015

Welcome back, everyone!  You may have noticed by now, but I've added an extra box to the monthly running!  The new candidate is called Super Geek Box and is apparently made by one of the co-creators of 1UP Box.  Apparently, they had creative differences and split off with one staying in 1UP Box and the other creating Super Geek Box.  This is my first month with Super Geek and I believe it's their second box ever.  They're very new but I'm really excited about them!  (Spoiler alert - they're amazing.)

1UP Box ARCADE

Street Fighter/DDR Shirt:  I thought this mashup was really cute.  Street Fighter and DDR are both arcade games so they fit the theme.  Some people have been bashing mashups, but I actually think they're cute.  Plus I know they're one of a kind and I find them funny; they're wins for me!

Notoriously Morbid Alpha & Omega and Eureka! Eye Bases Swatches!

Welcome back, everyone!  I'm really excited to be posting swatches of one of Notoriously Morbid's biggest collections to date - Alpha & Omega.  It boasts thirteen eyeshadows, three highlighters, three blushes, and three bronzers.  It's a beautiful neutral collection inspired by Joe Hill's Locke and Key comic book series.  On the same day, they also released three eye bases inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas and new Changeling topcoat colors.  I will be showing all these products to you today, so be warned, it's EXTREMELY picture heavy!

1UP Box SIDEKICK vs Loot Crate UNITE May 2015

Wowwww, yeah I'm the worst blogger ever lol.  Sorry this has been a really long time coming.  Just general procrastination, old laptop dying, and catching a cold has pushed this back further than I wanted.  I was actually excited about posting this up because I really liked what I got!  Without further ado, lets get on with it!

1UP Box SIDEKICK

BMO Plush
BMO Plush:  As soon as I opened up my box, this lil cutie was peeking up at me.  I legitimately screamed out in joy and picked him up.  BMO is one of my favorite characters in Adventure Time and his plush is so cute!  I didn't actually care what came in the box after that since the plush made the whole thing worth it for me haha.

Sidekick Shirt
Sidekick shirt:  Yoshi vs BMO Tron style!  I think this shirt might glow in the dark, so that's really cool too!

AFK Cosmetics Crazy Random Happenstance Collection Swatches

I'm really happy to be showing you swatches of AFK Cosmetics new 'Crazy Random Happenstance' collection!  It's inspired by the short but brilliant movie, Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog and stars some of my favorite people.  It actually includes a blush and a highlight; I didn't realize it at the time so I swatched everything as eyeshadows, oops!  Anyway, this is a great collection for me because every time I looked at the shadows, I would say, "Heheheh, my penis" and Thomas would look at me weirdly.  If you watch the movie, you'll get it :x  I recently rewatched it just to catch up on all the references because I first watched it years ago.

Alright, enough of my rambling; let's get on with swatches!

104th Trainees Squad
104th Trainees Squad:  rust with gold sparkles.  This is one of my free samples and inspired by the rust colored jackets the trainees wear in Attack on Titan.  I'm a fan of the series so this collection is a hit with me!
