According to the box, the colors are (from left to right): Pink, Cream, Gold, Green
Light Purple, Nude, Sand, Silver
Purple, Taupe
Dark Purple, Brown
(I may have mixed up cream/nude and sand/taupe, but their colors are so similar it hardly makes a difference)
It comes in a large tin Hello Kitty faced box. It comes with 12 eyeshadows, a black liquid eyeliner, and a Hello Kitty shaped compact mirror.
Normally, I'm not a big fan of Hello Kitty, but this had me excited for some reason. Perhaps it was the animal print, but I was excited to swatch the colors for you.
Here are the swatches of the eyeshadows (in no particular order), and the black eyeliner. I was impressed with the intensity of all the shadows except for one, and that was the matte nude color (on tin: first row, second to left). It took a lot of swatching for the color to build up where the camera could pick it up. I suppose it was because it was a light matte color.
All the other colors are shimmery and very, very pigmented. Just a light tap would give off a lot of transfer and be enough for an adequate swatch, so a little goes a long way with these shadows! They also feel very velvety on the skin and are easy to apply.
I've tried the black liner once and it's pretty good. Easy to apply because of it's pen-tip and I didn't have to go over it a lot for color. It lasted throughout an 8-hour day with no budging but came off easily with makeup remover.
Bottom line: Great, pigmented shadows and good long-lasting liner. Would recommend if the price isn't too steep for you.
You can stop here if you just came for the review. But I wanted to wish you all a very belated but Happy New Years!
13 is a number I like so I chose to go to Times Square for the first time in my life to watch the ball drop with my boyfriend.
Got these cool 2013 light-up glasses to ring in the new year.
I wasn't too concerned about being able to see the ball drop, so I decided to go late. We arrived in Times Square at 10pm and had to watch from a giant screen on 54th Street. It wasn't too bad because we found out in order to be at Times Square exactly, we were supposed to have tickets (which were rumored to cost upwards $200). I just wanted to be in the vicinity when the clock struck twelve :)
The screen we watched everything on. Graciously sponsored by Toshiba. |
Look at the amount of people! |
Despite not being able to see the ball in person, it was still a great night. We only had to wait an hour (since we actually got to 54th at 11pm) and there was absolutely no wind so it wasn't cold at all. I count myself very lucky and got to ring in another new year with the boy!
