Notoriously Morbid July 2015 Vanishing Cabinet - Drop Dead Gorgeous Swatches and FotD

Here's the last installment of my indie monthly subscription swatches!  I have Notoriously Morbid's July 2015 Vanishing Cabinet with me today and it was inspired by various spooky ladies.  When it was first announced last month, I freaked out because I love this theme so much.  I loved watching The Addams Family as a little girl and I've been wanting to watch the other ones as well.  There are colors inspired by Morticia, Lily, Vampira, Elvira, and the Bride of Frankenstein.  It includes four shadows and a mini lip gloss!

Cara Mia:  matte dove gray with red shimmers.  This color is inspired by the lovely Morticia Addams.  It's made me go back and rewatch the series in its entirety because I watched it on and off years ago.

Innocent + Twisted Alchemy July 2015 Subscription Swatches

I have swatches of Innocent + Twisted Alchemy's July subscription box!  It's tea party inspired with corresponding label art and a few exclusive products created by guest indies.

Aromaleigh July 2015 Ephemera Swatches

Welcome back, everyone!  Today I have swatches of Aromaleigh's July Ephemera inspired by the great Nikola Tesla.  This is the second to last Ephemera box and that makes me very sad because it's one of my absolute favorite subscription boxes.  The level of attention and detail gone into the packaging is very obvious.  This box is a bit different than previous ones in that it doesn't include any face products.  Instead, it includes four eyeshadows, a lip balm, and a perfume sample.

Hello Waffle Princess Mononoke Visage Swatches

I have swatches of Hello Waffle's Princess Mononoke inspired Visage products for you today!  I'm not a subscriber, but I managed to pick up these overstocks when they were released.  I'm a big fan of Miyazaki's films and Princess Mononoke holds a special place in my heart because it features giant wolves and wolves are my favorite animals :)  I ended up buying everything that was offered even though I may have some similarities in my collection.  What can I say?  I'm a huge hoarder haha.  Onto the swatches!

Aromaleigh Rusalka Menagerie and Goddess Blushes Swatches

I'm really excited to post this review on Aromaleigh Cosmetics' Rusalka Menagerie and Goddess blushes!  Aromaleigh does a mini collection (Menagerie) every month based off a mythical creature/legend and the most recent one was of Rusalka!  They also release monthly face products inspired by various goddesses and feature some really beautiful label art!  I've been trying to stay away from indie blushes because I have many mainstream ones, but the label art always gets me and indie blushes often have gorgeous duochromes that I can't find in drugstores.

Anyway, enough of my rambling, this post has been stuck in draft limbo for awhile waiting for my computer issues to be resolved.  Now that they are, I'm happy to finally be able to show the swatches!

Preen Cosmetics First Impression and Swatches!

Today I'm reviewing lipsticks from a newly opened indie makeup shop, Preen Cosmetics.  It was created by a well loved user on IMAM and had received great reviews.  I actually ordered during the second wave because I have so many lip products in my collection already, but seeing all the great swatches and reviews changed my mind.  There are five creamy and pigmented lipsticks in her collection right now and I ordered two full sized tubes in colors I believe I'd wear more often.

When my package arrived, it turned out the owner, Jenn, had sent me samples of the three other lipsticks so I was able to try them all!  The shop and product names are all avian themed and her packaging reflects that.

Ten Three Labs Phantasmagoria 2 Ellicott City Swatches

Welcome back, everyone!  I was fortunate enough to pick up Ten Three Lab's second installment of their Phantasmagoria box.  The first box was full of purples, so I decided to pass on this one.  However, the second one featured one of my favorite indies, Corvus Cosmetics, so I blind ordered it!  The theme was spooky events around Ellicott City and featured three eyeshadows and a Saucebox Sheen (lip gloss).  The mini eyeshadow from Corvus ended up exploding all over the package.  I contacted Noel, the owner of Corvus, who apologized and immediately offered a replacement.  Since I order very often from Corvus, I let her know she could just include it in my next order :)

Shiro Cosmetics and Femme Fatale Mini Haul Swatches and Review

I bought a few shadows from Shiro and Femme Fatale (sold on Shiro's site) a few weeks ago and have had a good amount of time testing them out.  When I found out Femme Fatale's famous Candied Apple shade was in stock, I hurried to pick it up because it's raved about by everyone.  I also picked up several others that I had wondered about.  Let me tell you, I'm thoroughly impressed by FF's eyeshadow formula!  They shades were all buttery, smooth, and pigmented over regular primer.  Now that they are on my radar, I'll be keeping my eye out for destashes and group buys!

Notoriously Morbid State of Fear First Sighting Swatches

Taken from Notoriously Morbid's Customer's Crypt

I have some very exciting news today!  Earlier in the day, Notoriously Morbid just released a new Cryptids inspired eyeshadow collection.  It consists of 50 eyeshadows and each shadow is based on a state in the U.S.  The amazing label art is inspired by the state quarters which I enjoyed collecting as a child and is different for every single shadow!

Since this is such an extensive collection, five shadows will be released monthly, with July being the first month.  They are also alphabetical, so as someone who lives in New York, I'm pretty sad that I have to wait longer, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying the other states' monsters.  The owner, Carrie, sent me a sample set of the first wave (which I am calling the First Sighting) to swatch and play with.  Coincedentally, it arrived the day of the release, so I'm very happy to be able to share my thoughts with you!  As usual, all thoughts provided are my own, honest opinions.

Hello Waffle Gods & Goddesses Collection Swatches

Canadian based indie company Hello Waffle recently released their collection based off of Greek gods and goddesses!  Since I love Greek mythology, I had to pick these up.  I actually got these awhile ago, so forgive me for posting these so late :x

Lunatick Cosmetics Apocalipstick Bruja Swatches

Hey everyone!  I have swatches of Lunatick Cosmetics' Apocalipstick in Bruja for you.  I became interested in this because I saw a few Instagram posts of a really cool bullet shaped lipstick.  I've never tried Lunatick before this but decided to splurge after seeing some positive reviews.  They only had three Apocalipsticks for now and I chose the one that I felt would look good on me and didn't have in my collection yet.

My lipstick shipped out really quickly and arrived in a custom box.  The lipstick came in a box as well with pictures of a mushroom bomb.  I do enjoy lipstick boxes because they're not common in indie cosmetics.

Bullet shaped tube

My lips were kinda peely and dry even after exfoliating, so the bumps are all from me and not from the lipstick!

Bruja: dusty lavender mauve.  I found the formula creamy and pigmented.  It's a bit hard for me to pull off this color, but it really is unique to my collection.  I hope Lunatick comes out with more colors because I really love the packaging and the formula feels pretty nice as well.

Aromaleigh Anthousai, Leshy, and Hydra Collection Swatches

I have swatches of Aromaleigh Cosmetics' seasonal Anthousai collection, along with their Leshy and Hydra Menagerie collections.  The Anthousai collection is made with their new and improved formula that is supposed to be pigmented even over bare skin!  Let's get on with swatches then :)

Aromaleigh January 2015 Ephemera Swatches!

As you all know by now, I'm a huge huge fan of Aromaleigh Cosmetics' Ephemera boxes.  They're monthly subscription boxes full of eyes, face, and lip products along with some guest indies.  It started during January of this year and I actually missed out on the first box.  I initially thought I'd be okay with not getting the overstocks because they were Narnia themed and I was very meh about the movie.  However, as I subscribed and months went on where I really grew to love the box, I realized I wanted to complete the collection.

Thankfully for destashes on IMAM, someone sold me their products at an awesome price.  I had actually bought half of the box on Aromaleigh's website and was desperately looking to complete the set.  Unfortunately, I didn't get the box or insert that came with it, but the makeup is more important!

Sadly, Aromaleigh is also discontinuing the Ephemera subscription after August, so I'm really glad I'll have every single box in existence.  I sure hope they'll bring it back someday because I thoroughly enjoyed the surprise every month.
