Corvus Cosmetics Mouseia Collection - Swatches and Review

Super new indie cosmetics company Corvus Cosmetics has done it again!  After the success of their debut collection, The Year 3000 (which will be incorporated into future collections due to copyright issues), Corvus released a nine eyeshadow collection based on the Muses of Greek mythology.  Each eyeshadow comes with a beautiful label art which you are also able to buy in mirror form.  Now I don't have a huge need for any more mirrors, but I had to have them because they were so beautiful!  I purchased the whole collection in sample sizes and went to buy three mirrors; two out of three were sold out which I had lamented over in the notes section.

Within half an hour, the owner Noel messaged me and said she can hold my order until she restocks the mirrors.  I love how attentive she was and her customer service in general is amazing.  I decided to hold the order and she messaged me as soon as the mirrors were restocked.  I completed my order and it was shipped a few days later.

Mirrors were packaged in individual black velvet bags!

Pictures taken in daylight and swatched with Notoriously Morbid Shadow Bind (top half) and ELF Essential Primer (bottom half)

Euterpe
Euterpe:  satin ivory

Terpsichore
Terpsichore:  satin ballet slipper pink

Thalia
Thalia:  satin periwinkle with silver shimmer

Polyhymnia
Polyhymnia:  shimmery ice blue

Daylight:  Euterpe, Terpsichore, Thalia, Polyhymnia

Clio
Clio:  beautiful pigmented bronze

Calliope
Calliope:  beautiful emerald green with silver shimmer; I would recommend using a glitter adhesive with this shadow as it's semi-sheer over non-sticky primer.

Urania
Urania:  sapphire blue with gold sparkles.  This is a super gorgeous shade and I can think of so many things to do with it!  I fangirled over it with Noel and we threw around some ideas on eye looks including Galaxy Eye and sort of a Halo Eye with Urania in the middle.  This is another shade that would benefit greatly over a glitter adhesive because the gold sparkles will really shine.

Erato
Erato:  absolutely stunning satin garnet.  This is another color I fangirled to Noel about because it's amazing.  It's lip safe as well and I'm definitely going to try for a custom lipstick of this once she perfects her formula!  Again, this would benefit over a sticky base, but may perform well to deepen the outer v.

Melpomene
Melpomene:  deep aubergine with red shimmers.  Another color that I'd recommend a sticky base with, but I would use this to deepen the outer v with other eye looks for those without a glitter adhesive.

Daylight:  Clio, Calliope, Urania, Erato, Melpomene

I think Noel put out an amazing collection with the Mouseia shadows.  I'm so impressed by how many lighter shades were included because I love having options to use to highlight my inner corner.  And as much as I loved the Year 3000 collection, I feel like the formula of Mouseia is even better.  Again, I'd like to point out how great the four lighter shades look; they're all pigmented and buttery.  The latter half of the collection are beautiful jewel tone shades that would need a sticky base, but I love how they look over them.  I'm in love with this collection including the inspiration because I was a huge Greek myth nut.  I know Noel has a lot of plans for the upcoming year and I'm extremely excited to see what she comes out with next!

  1. It's so unusual the way this collection is half pastels and half deep jewel tones. I like it and can't wait to play with mine when I get them.

    1. I love it as well! I do like how they gave more pastels so you can make multiple eye looks within the same collection. I've already got a lot of white/gold inner corner highlights, so it was nice to have some other colors and have them also be super pigmented :)
